Groat Street Festival - Soooo much Goodness!

Sun in Scorpio, Moon in Sagittarius

Hello Art Lovers,

It is with great big love that i share with you my adventures on the weekend at the Groat Street Festival in North Beach!

Walking around the space the energy of the area felt so good, so heart opening, so love filled! I think it was a mix of the magik of star swamp behind us, the giant eucalypts above us and all the stalls filled to the brim with love all around us!

The festival was filled with such good intention, love, sustainability, handmade and community mindedness at the forefront! It made for good vibes everywhere - hip-hip-hooray!

I really loved my Handmade Wonderland stall and with the help of lovely sisters i also held the 'Art for Your Heart' Felted Gumnuts Workshop proudly supporting beyondblue

And thanks to the support of friends, family, the kindness of strangers and the joy of felted gumnuts we have raised $650 for beyondblue. That is amazible!

It was so wonderful to walk around the festival and see so many big and little kids wearing the felted gumnuts, my heart rejoiced!

In the months leading up to the festival i have had these felted gumnuts in the forefront of my mind as well as my beautiful friend who gave me the very first one. This is for you my love, this can not change anything about the past, it can not bring you back, but it is a small moment in time full of love and support, full of people big and little coming together to create with love in your honour. I know you were there with us all day, i could feel it in my wings, so know you are loved, you are still inspiring others and that this is for you and may this contribution to beyondblue help them to reach out further to people with anxiety and depression, may the ripple effect of our felted gumnuts give us the space to be as we are in our depression and anxiety, may it not be held in, may we not fear to talk about how we really feel, may we instead reach out, connect, come into community with others and look after each other.
Lets let love in.
Lets come into a place of acceptance and love and just be.
That is my wish.

Thank you, thank you, thank you so much every one for your love and and for your support.
I loved making new friends, connecting with old friends and sharing my art love with you all.

Thank you so much to Faerie Cara of the Eco-Faeries for being such an inspiring woman bringing everyone together and organising an amazing community event that i hope will continue on forever more!

Brightest blessings
and art love for you all xxxxx

PS - there is an album of Groat Street Festival photos up on the Handmade Wonderland Facebook page too go check it out!

    1. Hi there,
The gumnuts were a community felting project more than items for sale. I will probably run it again at a future market stall - stay tuned for details and also at my next felt making workshop that will be coming up soon.
      Sarah xx
